Due to the road conditions, Pittsford Area Schools will be operating on a 2 hour delay today, Tuesday, January 9th. School will begin at 9:55 a.m.
Our custodial and maintenance staff have been hard at work over the break. They have been doing some deep cleaning in the hallways and classrooms as well as other maintenance work. Mr. Lee and Mr. Ian Brown installed wall mats in the small gym and they are a great addition to that space. Next time you see the maintenance and custodial staff, please tell them thank you for the great work that they do every day!
Congratulations to Senior Brooke Smith on being named Hillsdale County's Girls Cross Country Runner of the Year! Ava Mallar and Riley McCumber were honored as part of the Hillsdale County's Cross Country Dream Team. Lillian Jagielski received honorable mention honors. Great job girls!
Big Buck Contest Winners
Congratulations to the winners of the Pittsford Area Schools Big Buck Contest! Jenna Dickey was the overall winner of the contest with a giant 9 point buck she harvested on opening day! The other winners were Hunter Peiffer - Archery, Lizzy Bump - 9-12, Jenna Dickey - 6-8 and Trevor Fowler - K-5. Thank you to the PIttsford Trap Team for their donation of prizes and also thank you to CountrySide Trophies and Awards who donated the plaques and trophy! This contest will be held again next year as it was a huge success!
Reminder that tomorrow's boys jr pro practice will be for all boys who have been playing basketball in grades 3-6. It will run from 9-10:30

*Cookie Fundraiser Pick Up*
A reminder that the Cookie Fundraiser Pick Up will be from 3 pm- 6 pm in the cafeteria tomorrow, December 7th. Someone must be present to pick up the cookies.
The girls game vs Sand Creek tomorrow (12/5) will start at 6pm and will be varsity only. Furthermore, the varsity girls game vs North Adams scheduled for Thursday (12/7) will start at 6:30 and will be varsity only as well.

Don't forget to enter your buck in the Pittsford Area Schools Big Buck Contest! Send Mr. McDowell a picture of your buck for a chance to win a prize in the contest. Prizes will be given to the biggest buck in each of the following categories: Biggest buck overall, biggest buck for grades 9-12, biggest buck for grades 6-8, biggest buck for K-5 and biggest archery buck K-12. Winners will be announced on December 8th. A huge thank you to the Pittsford Trap Team for their donations of over $400 to the contest. Thank you also to Semper Fi Guns and Ammo for their donation of a t-shirt and a $35 gift card. We hope to make this an annual event!

The cookie Fundraiser orders will be available to pick up on December 7th at 3:15 in the cafeteria. Please make arrangements to be able to pick up that day. Pick up will be available from 3:15- 6 p.m. Thank you for your support of our PE program!
Just a reminder that Boy's Jr Pro starts this weekend for any boy who may be interested, who is in grades 2-6. The 2nd, 3rd, & 4th graders will practice on Saturday December 2nd from 9-10, while the 5th and 6th graders will practice from 10-11. If you have any questions feel free to contact Mr Burger.
*Big Buck Contest*
I know many students pleaded with me to cancel school tomorrow for opening day (see picture). Although, I couldn't cancel school I am going to host a big buck contest for students in grades 9-12 and 6-8. The winning student in each level will receive a prize from me and the overall biggest buck taken by a student will receive a trophy! The contest will run for the length of the regular firearm season Nov. 15-30. Make sure to email me a picture or show me a picture when you get to school. I want to wish all of the hunters the best of luck tomorrow. Stay safe and enjoy the time in the woods and the time with family and friends!

Congratulations to the girls cross country team on their 2nd place finish at the MHSAA Regionals at Ella Sharp Park this afternoon. Brooke Smith was Regional champion as she placed 1st with a time of 19:37. Riley McCumber finished 4th and Lillian Jagielski finished 12th to earn all-region honors. The girls team qualified for the MHSAA State Championship next Saturday at Michigan International Speedway. Great job girls!
